Mod Ghlaschu 2019

Glasgow will play host to An Comunn Gàidhealach’s Royal National Mod – 29 years since it was last held in the city. Which is a week long festival promoting the Gaelic language, culture and heritage through musical competitions.

Kicking off with a spectacular Opening Ceremony on the evening of Friday 11 October 2019, the week will incorporate an extensive programme of events featuring high-profile performances and will culminate on the morning of Saturday 19 October with the traditional mass gathering of the Gaelic choirs.

Centered around the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in the heart of the city centre, Glasgow Mod 2019 promises to be a major celebration. With the Albion Hotel less than 10 minutes away from The Royal Concert Hall it is a perfect place to be situated for any of the events or for the whole week of the events!

This year will welcome representatives from all over the world with the London Gaelic Choir returning to the stage after a long absence. However, it’s not just music events, with the introduction of a womans football match, to be held alongside the male tournament at Glasgow Green as part of a wider day of sport, which will see both senior and junior football and shinty competitions.
